Receiving Rewards from a Business (Coins)

Earning coins from your favorite businesses is simple. All you have to do is link your card(s) to your Twism app, and make purchases at participating businesses, no different than you would otherwise. It’s that easy! Each coin is equivalent to $1 in value (or one unit in that business’ home country currency).

Important: All card-linked transactions run with a debit card must be run as credit (without using a PIN) in order to receive reward coins. We also recommend paying with your physical credit card to earn rewards as Apple Pay and Google Pay are not yet fully supported.

Why do I need to link my card?

Linking your card is optional and not required to redeem offers with Twism. If you'd like to take full advantage of your Twism app, linking a card allows you to be rewarded automatically on purchases from participating merchants.

Just use your linked card as you normally would to make purchases. Loyalty Coins will show up in your Twism Superwallet! Simple as that.

By linking a card you are supporting local businesses, so thank you!

Will I be charged for something?

You will NOT be charged a fee for earning or redeeming rewards. Every Coin earned is worth $1 USD in purchase power at that merchant.

Is it secure to add my card information?

Your card will be only used to validate rewards. Twism does not retain any card data in our system. Instead, we use proprietary tokenization systems that do not store card numbers. This ensures you have a worry-free experience with total protection.

Which merchants are offering Loyalty Rewards?

You can find merchants with Loyalty Rewards in the app by going to the Coins tab > Loyalty Rewards Near You to view a list of participating merchants, as well as the percentage in Coins they will reward back on every purchase.

What are Pending Coins?

Pending coins are coins that have been earned via a transaction with a participating merchant, but have not yet been released to your wallet.

You can view when pending coins from a specific transaction will become available in your wallet by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Wallet tab in the Twism App
  2. To the right of your Available Balance you will see a Pending Coins balance. Tap on the balance to reveal the businesses you have pending coins with
  3. Select a merchant to reveal the transaction details
  4. Each transaction will have a date when the coins will become available

The duration of when pending coins will be released is dependent on the business' return policy and/or when their payment processors release clearance data for their transactions. The release of pending coins may also be affected by less common transaction scenarios including, but not limited to:

  • Payment gateway misconfigurations
  • Transactions not allowed
  • Expired cards
  • Card cancellations
  • Insufficient funds

I made a purchase with a participating business, but why did I not receive a push notification?

Certain card types (AMEX, Mastercard, Visa) used with certain POS systems may not be eligible for real-time push notifications. However, all transactions with a participating Twism merchant will receive a clearance notification within 3-5 business days after purchase or after the businesses' return policy has expired, following the format:

“🤩  x.xx in coins from {Business Name} has been added to your balance and are now available to use!”

Note: Newly linked Mastercards are not eligible for real-time transactions within the first 24 hours of linkage. However, purchase confirmation is always expected, and therefore you will still receive coins when the transaction has cleared.

Why have I not received my coins?

If your coins were earned via a purchase in-store or with an online store that has a refund policy in place, it is likely that these coins are still pending and have not yet lapsed the merchant’s return policy. If you would like to check when these will be available, please refer to the Wallet tab > Pending Coins > Select the transaction to view the expected date they will be made available.

If your coins were earned with a business in-store that does not have a return policy in place, your coins will be available when the merchant’s card processor releases the clearance data of your transaction. This can take up to 3-5 business days after your purchase.

If this time frame has lapsed and you have still not received your coins, please submit a support request with the following information:

  • Business name
  • Date of transaction
  • Exact transaction amount
  • Last 4-digits of the linked card used and card type (Visa, Mastercard or Amex)
